- Munnar - Periyar - Kumarakom - Mararikulam
Day 1 London - Cochin
Overnight flight from London to
Cochin.
Day 2 Arrive Cochin
Arrive in Cochin and transfer to Brunton Boatyard
for 2 nights. Afternoon harbour cruise and evening Kathakali dance
show.
Day 3 Cochin
Full day tour of Cochin including the Jewish
Synagogue, the Dutch Palace, St Francis Church, and the Chinese
fishing nets.
Day 4 Cochin -
Munnar
Transfer to Munnar in the
Cardamon Hills to stay at the Windamere Estate. Rest of the day at
leisure to enjoy the fresh air.
Day 5 Munnar
Morning visit to Chinnar
Wildlife Sanctuary, home of elephants, leopards and bears. Return to
Munnar via the Eravikulam National Park for a short hike through the
rolling hills to view more of the local wildlife.
Day 6 Munnar - Periyar
After breakfast drive to Thekkady. The journey
itself is quite enchanting as the road winds through tranquil
countryside, green plantations and thick jungles. Arrive in Thekkady
and check in to the Spice Village, located on the fringes of the
Periyar Game Preserve which covers 300 square miles.
Day 7 Periyar
Morning visit to the
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary to spot elephants, sambars, tigers and
gaurs. In the afternoon enjoy a visit to a local spice plantation.
Day 8 Periyar - Houseboat
Board your houseboat and glide along the backwaters
for a leisurely overnight cruise. As you pass through local villages,
enjoy the warmth the locals shower upon you.
Day 9 Houseboat - Kumarakom
Leave the houseboat and transfer to Kumarakom, a
tiny settlement nestled in the backwaters of Kerala. Spend 2 nights at
the Coconut Lagoon.
Day 10
Kumarakom
A full day of leisure to
enjoy the local facilities of yoga, Ayurvedic treatments, boating,
fishing and swimming.
Day 11-13
Kumarakom - Mararikulam
Late morning
drive to Mararikulam and check in at the Marari Beach Resort for 3
nights. Unwind in the relaxing surroundings.
Day 14 Mararikulam - Cochin
- London
Transfer
to Cochin airport for your flight home.
Day 15 London
Arrive in London.
