North India temple Tour - Varanasi

Day 01 Arrive Delhi - Varanasi
Arrive at Delhi
You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel Uppal’s Orchid.
Later you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to New Delhi railway station to board the overnight train Magadh Express to Mughal Sarai (suburb of Varanasi)

Day 02 Arrive Varanasi
Arrive at Varanasi at 0740 hours.
You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel Taj Ganges for two nights.
Later in the morning enjoy city sightseeing tour.
The Holy City of Varanasi, the Religious Capital of  Hinduism, crowded  with temples and its labyrinth of streets with  their throngs  of  people,  is exciting, enticing and a  city  to  be experienced.  As a place of devotion and worship, Varanasi attracts thousands of pilgrims every year. The city represents the best thoughts of Vedic religion and culture.  The city sightseeing includes a visit to the Kashi Vishvanath Temple, the Bharat Mata Mandir and the new Vishvanath temple.  The  Kashi Vishvanath  Temple  (or the Golden Temple), is a  gold  spiraled temple  rebuilt  in  the 18th century and is  dedicated  to  Lord Shiva. The spire is covered with tones of gold plating donated by Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab. Only Hindus are allowed inside. The Bharat Mata Mandir is dedicated to Mother India and has a relief map of "Mother India" in marble. The new Vishvanath Temple (1966) at the Benaras Hindu University (the largest residential university in Asia - a great seat of learning Sanskrit) is one of the tallest in India. The marble Shiva temple modeled on the old Vishvanath temple is open to all castes.

Day 03 Varanasi
Early morning enjoy a boat ride on river Ganges.

The early morning boat ride on the Ganges to view the Sunrise, as seen from the boat can be a spiritually uplifting sight.  From dawn to dusk the riverfront (Ghats) are thronged by thousands of devotees, who perform their holy rituals in the hope of attaining eternal salvation, the "NIRVANA".

Afternoon excursion to Sarnath - the site of Buddha's first sermon (on the outskirts of Varanasi)

At a distance of 12 km from Varanasi lies Sarnath where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon after enlightenment. Here he revealed the eight fold path, the Buddhist Doctrine. And also here, at some distance, are centres of Buddhist pilgrimage such as Patna, Gaya and Bodhgaya.

Day 04 Varanasi - Khajuraho
Transfer to Varanasi airport
Fly from Varanasi to Khajuraho by Jet Airways flight

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel Jass for two nights

Day 05 Khajuraho
Morning visit the famous Chandela Dynasty temples.
A thousand years ago, this was the seat of the Chandela Kings who built 85 temples, of which 22 remain in eloquent testimony to the glory of the reign. The famous Chandela Dynasty Temples built between 950 and 1050 AD immortalized in stone is a wealth of sensuous and erotic sculptures, an exquisite depiction of human life and emotions, equating passion with spiritual union. The sculptures considered most perfect figures achieved in stone, depicts Gods and Goddesses and amorous couples.
Afternoon is at leisure.

Khajuraho Tour

Day 06 Khajuraho - Bandhavgarh
Drive from Khajuraho to Bandhavgarh, approx seven hours drive.
Check in at Tiger Den Resort for three nights.

Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 07 & 08 Bandhavgarh
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives to the National Park by jeep.

Bandhavgarh National Park with an area of 105 sq km is in the Vindhya hills of Madhya Pradesh. There are 32 hills in the park, which has a large natural fort at its center. The fort’s cliffs are 2625 feet (800 meters) high, 1000 feet (300 meters) above the surrounding countryside. Over half the area is covered by Sal forest although on the upper slope it is replaced by mixed forest of sali, saj, dhobin, and saja. The marshes support a vast grassland savanna. Before becoming a National Park in 1968, it was the game preserve of the Maharajas of Rewa, a place close by where the White tiger (Albino) originated. Though it involves quite a journey, it has a wide variety of game. Its main wild beasts are tiger, leopard, sloth bear, gaur, sambar, chital, muntjac, nilgai, chinkara, wild pigs. The flowering and fruit trees attract woodland birds, which include green pigeon, jerdon’s leaf bird, crested serpent eagle and variable hawk eagle. There are also interesting cave shrines scattered around the park.

Day 09 Bandhavgarh - Jabalpur - Bhopal
Enjoy a morning game drive to the National Park by jeep.
Later you will be transferred to Jabalpur railway station, approx four and half hours drive to board the overnight train Narmada Express to Bhopal

Day 10 Arrive Bhopal
Arrive at Bhopal at 0430 hours.
You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel Noor-Us-Sabah for two nights.

Bhopal was founded by the legendary Raja Bhoj and was known as Bhojpal. The mythological Pandavas are said to have visited the surrounding areas during their exile. Now capital of Madhya Pradesh, India’s largest state, Bhopal is located right in the centre of India. It is a vibrant city, full of lakes, mountainsides and flanked by forests on three sides. Bhopal is an important tourist center for Buddhist and special interest travellers. The city is developing industrially at a very fast pace.

Later in the morning enjoy an excursion to Sanchi.
Sanchi is known for its Stupas, monasteries, temples and pillars dating from the 3rd century B.C to the 12th century A.D. The world-renowned stupa of Sanchi in M.P designated by UNESCO as a world heritage site for its archaeological and historical monuments.
Afternoon is at leisure.

Day 11Bhopal
Day is at leisure to explore the city.

Day 12 Bhopal - Agra
Morning is at leisure
Later you will be transferred to Bhopal railway station to board the train Shatabdi Express to Agra
Air-conditioned chair car – 1430:2015 hours

You will be met on arrival and transferred your hotel Trident Hilton for overnight stay.

Day 13 Agra - Delhi
Visit Taj Mahal at sunrise.
Later enjoy a sightseeing tour of Agra City.
(Include Agra Fort and the tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah)

A sprawling industrial town, Agra is situated 204 kilometres from Delhi. Agra was established in 1475 by Badal Singh and came into its own when Sikander Lodhi of the Lodhi dynasty chose it for his capital because of its proximity to the Yamuna. Babur defeated the Lodhis to capture not only Agra but also to lay the foundation of the Mughal Empire. Places of interest in Agra include the most extravagant monument, Taj Mahal; Agra Fort, the tomb of Mirza Ghiyas Beg, Itmad-Ud-Daulah.

Later in the evening you will be transferred to Agra Cantonment railway station to board the train Shatabdi Express to Delhi.
