Day 1: London-Delhi.
International flight
London to Delhi.
Day 2: Taj Mahal.
Visit the Taj Mahal. Overnight stay.
Day 3: Fatehpur
Sikri. Visit Fatipur Sikri, the red sandstone city of the
Mogul emperor Akbar.
Day 4: Jaipur.
Day sightseeing this pretty city. Included will be 'The Palace of the
Winds', the famous observatory of Jai Singh. Shopping will
include seeing friends, carpets and pottery.
Day 5/6/7/8: Amber
Palace-Pushkar. Visit Amber Palace by elephant back.
Travel on to the Holy city of Pushkar, a pilgrimage centre, and our
first painting location. In the days you are here you can paint from
the hotel or just walk out to paint.
Day 9/10/11/12:
Udaipur. Travel to Udaipur through exceptional landscape.
Our Haveli Hotel is on the lakeside. From our hotel we can sit and
paint. Whilst in Udaipur we shall visit the miniature painters
for which Udiapur is famous. Special dinner at the Maharaja's
hunting lodge.
Day 13:
Udaipur-Jodhpur. Travel to Jodhpur visiting the Jain
temples of Ranakpur on route.
Day 14/15/16/17:
Jodhpur-Jaisalmer. Visit Jodhpur's formidable Meherangarh
Fort before continuing to the exotic desert town of Jaisalmer. We
stay high on the ramparts overlooking the desert. Jaisalmer is
straight out of the arabian nights, built and carved in golden stone
it offers wonderful painting images.
Day 18/19/20/21:
Shekawati. Travel to Mandawa Fort in the heart of the
Shekawati area. All the noblemens or merchants houses are
frescoed inside and out, with courtyards and rooms leading one upon
the other. It offers many rewarding and again different locations
and opportunities for painting.
Day 22: Neemrama
Fort. Travel to Neemrama Fort to spend the day at leisure
in this beautiful palace set in its own grounds. This is the last
highlight of the tour.
Day 23: Delhi-London.
Early start for the airport to connect to the international flight.
